Requirements
  • A JD or equivalent degree.
  • A record of outstanding scholarly achievement or the potential for such achievement in energy law, public utilities regulation, environmental regulation, and other areas of law that intersect with sustainability.
  • Multiple years of teaching experience are required to be hired at the associate and full professor levels.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and teach classes in one or more of the following areas: energy law, environmental law, public utilities regulation, property law, land-use law, torts, civil procedure, consumer law, administrative law including state administrative law, business law, and climate change law.
  • Engage in service to the Law School, University, and legal profession as expected of faculty members.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges.
Desired Qualifications
  • A record of outstanding scholarly achievement or strong potential for such achievement in energy law, public utilities regulation, environmental regulation, or other areas of law intersecting with sustainability.
  • Excellence or strong potential in research and teaching.
  • Engagement with the Wisconsin Idea, existing strengths, new substantive or methodological areas, or pluralism and healthy civil discourse.
