Renesas launches 500W GaN charging platform for industrial and IoT applications. 2 mins read Renesas Electronics has introduced a new GaN-based Half-Wave LLC (HWLLC) charging platform capable of delivering 500W or more, marking a significant expansion of its AC/DC and power-adapter portfolio for industrial, IoT and infrastructure systems. The HWLLC architecture is designed to scale high-efficiency power delivery from 100W-class designs to 500W, enabling more compact high-speed chargers for applications such as power tools, e-bikes and household appliances. Renesas says the topology overcomes the size, thermal and efficiency constraints common in traditional converter designs.
