GSI is seeking experienced candidates for a full-time Project Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer position in our Wichita, KS office. The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong technical and interpersonal skills, management experience, and experience working with regulatory agencies. Must be self-motivated, innovative, and able to work successfully with staff at all levels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as project manager for multiple types of environmental projects, including Phase I/II environmental site assessments, comprehensive site investigations, groundwater monitoring, and environmental remediation.
- Manage field geologists, scientists, and technicians.
- Develop work plans and project schedules
- Coordinate field activities and ensure safe and quality execution
- Prepare technical reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency and client requirements and procedures
- Prepare bids
- Build client relationships
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering
- A minimum of 4 years of environmental consulting experience, with a strong focus on soil and groundwater assessments.
- Excellent technical writing skills and experience with project report writing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
- Valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, with a current 8-hour refresher.
- Experience supervising staff and programs.
- Professional license, or ability to obtain one.
