Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two or more years of experience in electronics manufacturing, quality inspection, or automated optical inspection programming is preferred.
  • Experience with surface-mount technology and printed circuit board assembly environments is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience programming and operating automated optical inspection equipment such as Mirtec, Koh Young, CyberOptics, Omron, Viscom, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC J-STD-001 standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems is required.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, Gerber files, bills of materials, and assembly documentation is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems is required.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally is required.
  • Manual dexterity for handling electronic assemblies and precision inspection equipment is required.
  • Ability to use microscopes, automated optical inspection systems, measuring instruments, and computer workstations for extended periods is required.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and follow electrostatic discharge procedures is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of printed circuit board assemblies and electronic products.
  • Verify workmanship against IPC-A-610, customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
  • Conduct first article inspections and support new product introductions.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming products using nonconformance report procedures.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform visual inspections using microscopes and precision inspection equipment.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with ISO 9001, IPC standards, electrostatic discharge requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Create, modify, validate, and optimize automated optical inspection programs for new and existing products.
  • Fine-tune inspection parameters to maximize defect detection while minimizing false calls.
  • Support automated optical inspection machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
  • Analyze automated optical inspection data and continuously improve program performance.
  • Work with Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to improve inspection effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot automated optical inspection equipment and programming issues.
  • Validate automated optical inspection programs during new product introductions and engineering builds.
  • Recommend process improvements based on automated optical inspection defect trends and inspection data.
  • Monitor production quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support process capability studies and quality improvement projects.
  • Assist with customer quality investigations and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Customer Success, and Supply Chain to resolve quality concerns.
  • Promote a culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
