Motorola's new Edge 70 Plus promises great mid-range value - but I only had eyes for the special edition Razr 70.

Motorola's new Edge 70 Plus promises great mid-range value - but I only had eyes for the special edition Razr 70. Given the choice between an affordable mid-ranger or blinged-out flip phone, the winner was obvious 3 September 2026 / 17:00 BST Motorola brought a handful of new handsets to Berlin for this year's IFA show but only one truly stole the show for me - and it wasn't the budget-friendly Edge 70 Plus. A renewed partnership with crystal jeweller Swarovski has delivered the blingiest flip phone yet. The Razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski, which takes the place of the Razr 60-based model announced last month as part of the new Brilliant Collection, is a special edition take on an already sharp-looking clamshell. It's decked out in a "leather-inspired" texture and a colour picked from the moodier end of the Pantone palette - Meteorite - but the highlight has to be the 32 'silver night' crystals dotted across the quilted back panel, plus three more on the front face directly above the 3.6in cover display. One final, larger crystal has been embedded into the hinge. The moody matching homescreen wallpaper is a nice touch. It's undeniably a head-turner, which feels properly premium to hold and adds real fashion appeal to Motorola's more mainstream flip phone. I was a little surprised the firm didn't use the Razr 70 Ultra as a base, but I guess that phone's larger cover screen would've left less room for Swarovski flair. Hardware-wise it's the Razr 70 through and through, meaning the outer screen gives way to a 6.9in flexible AMOLED, which sits atop a Mediatek Dimensity 7450X chipset, 4800mAh battery and dual 50MP outer cameras. You'll soon be able to snag one, directly from Motorola, for £900 / €1000. The Motorola Edge 70 Plus, meanwhile, is an all-new addition to the firm's mainstream mobile line-up. It borrows styling cues from the pricier Edge 70, namely the offset rear camera island - except here it contains a 200MP main snapper with optical image stabilisation and a 2MP secondary dedicated to macro shots. It'll land in a choice of four distinctive Pantone hues. Mountain View (a dark green) has a finish inspired by silk, while Sage and Milky Blue have a soft, leather-like texture. Gray Lilac uses acetate, which does a convincing impression of marble. Up front, the 6.78in AMOLED display is rocking curved-edge glass rather than repeat the Edge 70's flat panel. Personally I think this is a trend the phone world should probably relegate to the past, as flat screens don't have to content with distracting light reflections in bright sunshine. The panel itself seems decent for the cash though, with a 1.5K resolution, HDR10+ support and a huge 5200 nits peak brightness. Motorola has squeezed a comparatively big 6500mAh battery inside, which promises all-day use and quick 45W wired charging. Gamers will also appreciate the bypass charging mode, which preserves battery health while playing on mains power. Internals are on the money for an affordable mid-ranger, with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage. There are currently no plans to bring the Edge 70 to the USA. It'll launch in the UK and Europe later this year, for £530 / €600. Moto will likely be hoping the big battery and high pixel count camera can pull punters away from the slightly cheaper Google Pixel 10a. Motorola also debuted an ultra-slim Qi2.2 25W magnetic wireless charger this week. It'll ship both solo for £40 / €40 and as a bundle with a custom desk stand made from a mix of aluminium and Alcantara - but neither of the new phones will actually support it. ELLE Australia's 2026 Next Gen Awards celebrate the best of new Aussie talent.

ELLE Australia's 2026 Next Gen Awards celebrate the best of new Aussie talent. Mediaweek spoke with Jessica Bailey, ELLE Au's editor, about why the awards are so exciting - and important. Jessica Bailey, Elle Australia Editor/Some of the nominees for the 2026 ELLE Next Gen Awards. Images: ELLE Au The 2026 ELLE Next Gen Awards are taking place at The Press in Sydney on September 2, to celebrate Australia's emerging creative voices across fashion, film, music, beauty, art and literature. The awards span nine categories: actor, model, fashion designer, ELLE man, musician, filmmaker, artist, beauty and writer. ELLE Australia has partnered with Swarovski, Uber Elite and Essential Parfums for the event. The annual awards will be hosted by ELLE Australia editor Jessica Bailey, for the second year. "It's such an unique energy in the room, everyone's so excited," Bailey said of last year's awards. When asked what qualifies a nominee, Bailey told us, "We want to unearth people who are young, fascinating and on the cusp of something. The leading media trade publication in Australia. "That's the key - they're just about to break - and we want to catch them before that." Bailey added that's what ELLE is all about. "If you look back at the last 81 years, globally it's been an incubator of emerging talent, and it's always spotlighted the young, bold creatives who are pushing boundaries and inspiring the next generation to see themselves as they are. "At ELLE in Australia, we had Margot Robbie on the cover just as she was in The Wolf of Wallstreet, that was her first major cover. "And then we had Milly Alcock on the cover last year as she soared into cinemas as the new Supergirl. "And we had Sunday Rose Kidman Urban in March, who's the biggest fashion muse of the moment as she establishes her own career." Bailey explained that the whole ELLE team decides the shortlist and then the final winners. "It doesn't stop at the awards," Bailey says. "After the awards, we have more events, we have a relationship with the winners, and it's so nice to be able to build that ELLE community with them." Bailey adds that, "This year's cohort are really impressive. "You learn so much from them, it's so amazing what young people are doing. Amazing achievements." Swarovski is Headline Partner for ELLE Au's Next Gen Awards. As Headline Partner, Swarovski will feature across the awards and ELLE's print, digital and social coverage, including a dedicated on-site experience and content celebrating the 2026 nominees and winners. Sonia Kudatov, Director of Sales, Swarovski, said: "At Swarovski, innovation, creativity and self-expression are at the heart of everything we do, making ELLE Next Gen a natural partnership for our brand. "We are proud to return as Headline Partner and celebrate the next generation of Australian talent whose fresh perspectives, ambition and creativity continue to shape the future of fashion, entertainment and culture." Uber Elite, Uber's premium ride experience featuring professional chauffeurs, luxury vehicles and first-class service, joins the 2026 awards as Official Ride Partner. The partnership will help nominees and guests arrive in style, while offering an exclusive first look at what's next for Uber Elite in Australia. Essential Parfums, represented in Australia by Cosmax Prestige Brands, will join as Exclusive Fragrance Partner, creating a luxury sensory experience through premium gifting, experiential touchpoints and editorial content, while paying homage to ELLE's French heritage. About ELLE Australia. While ELLE magazine has grown to be read by nearly 500,000 Australians each month, its real strength lies in the depth of its content ecosystem, spanning print, digital, social, events and experiences. ELLE's rebirth in Australia demonstrates how a modern magazine brand can operate as a truly digital-led model. Engagement across TikTok and Instagram (1.5 million combined followers) has grown by more than 300% year on year, helping drive a nearly 20% increase in traffic to ELLE.com.au at a time when search drops are hitting many publishers. This deeper connection with the ELLE community is also translating into strong commercial results, through partnerships with brands including L'Oréal Paris, Uber, Swarovski, Ralph Lauren, SkinBetter Science and La Mer.

Virtual try-on: the future of online shopping. Discover virtual try-on: the future of online shopping and how it's transforming the fashion industry with AI-powered solutions and innovative technologies. July 27, 2026 - #AI Fashion Technology #AI Fashion #Technology The future of online shopping: virtual try-on revolutionizes Fashion Technology. In the digital age, where shopping from the comfort of your home has become second nature, the traditional online shopping experience is about to get a whole lot more personal. Enter virtual try-on, the latest innovation in fashion technology that's poised to revolutionize the way Loomlyft shop online. Imagine being able to try on clothes virtually before purchasing them - no more fitting rooms, no more shipping fees, and no more guessing. This isn't just a futuristic dream; it's the future of online shopping, and it's already here. The evolution of online shopping. Online shopping has come a long way since the early days of the internet. From the early days of browsing static product pages to today's immersive shopping experiences, technology has continually reshaped how Loomlyft shop. From advancements in mobile commerce to personalized shopping assistants, the online retail landscape has been continuously evolving. What is virtual try-on? Virtual try-on is a technology that allows customers to see how clothes would fit on them before making a purchase. It typically involves a combination of augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning to create a realistic and personalized shopping experience. How does virtual try-on work? The process is relatively simple. First, the customer selects the product they want to try on and is prompted to upload a photo of themselves. The AI then analyzes the photo to determine the customer's body shape and size. Using this information, the virtual try-on technology maps the clothing onto the customer's body, creating a realistic 3D image. Practical examples and applications. Several companies have already implemented virtual try-on technology, and the results are nothing short of impressive. Here are a few examples: - Nasty Gal: The popular online fashion retailer has integrated virtual try-on into its mobile app, allowing customers to try on clothes using their smartphone camera. - Adidas: The sports brand has developed a virtual try-on feature that uses AI to analyze a customer's body shape and recommend the best size and style. - Swarovski: The luxury jewelry brand has introduced AR-powered try-on that allows customers to see how their jewelry would look on them in real-time. The role of AI and machine learning. AI and machine learning play a crucial role in the success of virtual try-on technology. By analyzing customer data, these technologies can provide personalized recommendations, improve the accuracy of the virtual try-on experience, and even predict future fashion trends. The benefits of virtual try-on. There are several benefits to virtual try-on, both for retailers and consumers: - Improved Customer Experience: Customers can now make more informed purchasing decisions, leading to higher satisfaction and repeat business. - Cost Savings: Retailers can reduce return rates, saving on shipping costs and improving profitability. - Increased Engagement: Virtual try-on can help retailers engage customers in new and exciting ways, driving more traffic to their online stores. Challenges and future outlook. While virtual try-on is a game-changer for online shopping, there are still some challenges to overcome. One of the biggest challenges is the accuracy of the virtual try-on experience. While the technology is improving rapidly, there are still instances where the clothing may not fit perfectly. However, as AI and machine learning continue to evolve, Loomlyft can expect the accuracy of virtual try-on to improve significantly. Additionally, as more retailers adopt this technology, the cost of implementation will likely decrease, making it more accessible to smaller businesses. Key takeaways. - Virtual try-on is the future of online shopping: It provides a more personalized and engaging shopping experience for customers. - AI and machine learning play a crucial role in the success of virtual try-on: They improve the accuracy of the experience and provide personalized recommendations. - Retailers can benefit from reduced return rates and increased customer engagement: Virtual try-on can drive more traffic to their online stores. - The technology is still evolving: While there are challenges to overcome, the future of virtual try-on looks bright. Lutron unveils Palladiom Drapery, expanding its design-forward product family.

Lutron unveils Palladiom Drapery, expanding its design-forward product family. The new automated drapery system delivers a clean architectural appearance, seamless control, and optional Finials with Swarovski(R) Crystals. July 20, 2026 COOPERSBURG, PA - JULY 20, 2026 - Lutron Electronics, the trusted leader in Intelligent Lighting, automated window treatments, and intuitive controls, is proud to announce the launch of Palladiom drapery, the newest addition to its premium Palladiom family. Marking a global product launch, Palladiom drapery introduces an exposed-rod solution that carries the Palladiom design language into decorative applications, with four end treatment options, including a finial created in partnership with Swarovski(R). Palladiom drapery was developed in response to the growing popularity of soft window treatments, which add texture, drama, and dimension to a space. Combining the slender refinement of a traditional rod with the simplicity of automated movement, it offers a sophisticated solution that complements this design trend. Demand for automated window treatments continues to grow, with 56% of designers now incorporating them into their projects, according to Lutron's 2026 Luxury Residential Trend Report: Living with Light. "Palladiom drapery represents an important evolution of our window treatment portfolio," said Cecilia Ramos, Senior Director of Architectural Markets at Lutron. "For the first time, designers can extend the Palladiom experience across both roller shades and drapery, creating a more cohesive approach to window treatments throughout the home." Arianne Bellizaire, interior designer and independent Lutron shades stylist, added: "Window treatments have the power to bring warmth, texture, and movement to a space. Palladiom drapery allows those elements to be incorporated without sacrificing the thoughtful detailing and understated elegance that define the Palladiom aesthetic." A New Approach to Drapery Palladiom drapery reimagines the traditional drapery rod with a slender unibody design that brings a clean, elevated presence to luxury residential interiors. Featuring a sleek profile, the system conceals the majority of its automation components within the rod itself, creating a refined exposed-rod appearance. Crafted from lightweight yet rigid aluminum, the system delivers the structural integrity required to support substantial textiles while maintaining the elegant, minimalist profile synonymous with Palladiom. Available in five hand-crafted finishes-Pure White, Black Anodized, Clear Anodized, Bronze Anodized, and Satin Nickel-Palladiom drapery accommodates a broad range of fabrics while integrating seamlessly with Lutron's control ecosystem. Palladiom drapery is available with three end treatment options - End Bracket, End Cap, and Finial - giving designers flexibility to tailor the system to different aesthetic preferences. Created in Partnership with Swarovski(R) For Palladiom drapery, Lutron partnered with Swarovski to create an exclusive finial that celebrates the craftsmanship and precision shared by both brands. Together, the teams co-developed a custom-cut crystal specifically for Palladiom drapery, refining its geometry, proportion, and interaction with light through multiple design iterations. Seamlessly integrated into the machined aluminum finial and coordinated to each finish, the result is an understated detail that quietly elevates the architectural expression of the system. "Palladiom Drapery has always been about seamlessly integrating technology with beautiful design. Our partnership with Swarovski extends that philosophy, bringing together two brands that share a passion for craftsmanship and precision. The result is an elegant architectural detail that is intentional, timeless, and uniquely Palladiom." - Ed Blair, President and Vice Chairman, Lutron Electronics Engineered for both new construction and renovation projects, Palladiom unifies window treatments and controls under an elegant, craft-forward visual language. The Palladiom line premiered with a distilled, uniplanar keypad, featuring personalized engraving and elegant finishes, and grew to include a diverse assortment of control accessories. The design language carried forward with Palladiom roller shades, an exposed roller with a refined profile, available in both wired and wire-free versions. With this latest addition, the collection now includes roller shades, soft window coverings, and controls through a shared visual language rooted in precision engineering and meticulous craftsmanship.
