Requirements
  • Graduate of a United States-accredited School of Optometry
  • Passed all parts of the NBEO exam
  • Residency training in low vision rehabilitation
  • Possess/be able to obtain and maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Ohio
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, patients, and other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Commitment to knowledge and demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications
  • Commitment to resident, fellow, and education
Responsibilities
  • Perform the full range of responsibilities in the areas of teaching, research/scholarship, and service
  • Provide clinical services with or without the presence of a trainee
  • Support the academic mission of the Department
  • Pursue research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development and education initiatives, or other activities consistent with the faculty assignment
  • Teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching and may involve medical students, residents, or fellows
  • Supervise and advise medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows
  • Provide clinical service at the OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned
  • Participate in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions
  • Participate in local, regional, or national professional organizations
