Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or API Engineer (or similar)
  • Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale, AWS cloud-native applications
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS)
  • Professional experience building infrastructure with IaC and scripting such as Terraform, Pulumi, etc
  • Previous experience driving or contributing to security roadmaps with input from engineering and external security auditors and a general understanding of common compliance frameworks
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices with ability to articulate problem statements and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working directly with customers to resolve sensitive issues
  • Fluency in technologies that support large-scale web applications with AWS products - this includes networking, databases, servers, message queues, load balancers, WAFs, and more
  • Able and willing to work outside of standard 9-5 business hours when needed and to provide on-call support

Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts related to infrastructure tools, database administration, release engineering, and infrastructure documentation
  • Develop reusable modules via infrastructure-as-code to be consumed across the entire engineering team
  • Partner with engineering teams to understand product needs, support test environments, and manage CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor and maintain AWS environments, observability, uptime and scalability
  • Improve the automation and software development of operational tools that deploy, test, and monitor software in a continuous delivery release cycle
  • Coordinate relationships and use the expertise of external vendors to complete security audits and certifications
  • Oversee capacity planning and performance management of systems
  • Work with external vendors to develop and implement our security roadmap
  • Provide incident response to management, working directly with customers to resolve issues when needed
  • Ensure the security of the production infrastructure, systems and applications
  • Oversee daily compliance requirements and work with audit teams to ensure compliance
