Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • At least three months of customer service or public relations experience is required.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm and strong customer service skills are required.

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required.
  • CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Child Abuse Prevention training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide service to members, guests, and program participants in the facility and by phone to contribute to member retention.
  • Conduct interviews and tours for prospective members, sell memberships and programs, and provide facility and program information.
  • Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform the supervisor of unusual or unresolved issues.
  • Apply YMCA policies related to member services.
  • Register members and program participants and receipt monies.
  • Use YMCA computers with skill and proficiency.
  • Work without constant direct supervision and remain at the assigned post for extended periods.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment.
  • Follow policies concerning boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend and complete required abuse risk management training.
  • Follow procedures for managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
  • Follow job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities, including ensuring consumers are properly signed in and out and that only authorized adults enter the facility.
