  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Sciences or Optical Engineering
  • Strong foundation in optical engineering fundamentals and principles
  • Demonstrated experience working in optics labs. Experience in aligning lenses, mirrors, prisms, and optical and opto-mechanical components on an optical breadboard
  • Experience working with PMTs, CMOS, or CCD cameras
  • Experience working with lab equipment such as interferometers, auto-correlators, or similar
  • Good foundation in gaussian beam propagation
  • 1-2 years experience doing optical design using Zemax or similar
  • Expertise in Solid Works and OnShape
  • Experience with cryogenic systems
  • Experience with high precision motion devices (e.g. piezos, flexures)
  • Experience working with Trioptics, Zygo interferometer, or similar systems
  • Work closely with Staff optical and opto-mechanical engineers to align and build very complex and ultra high precision beam shaping and steering optics,and optical modules that incorporate components such as complex lenses, waveplates, and acousto-optics modulators
  • Design, test, and build laser beam optics such as collimators, focusing lenses, objectives and eyepieces
  • Test transmission, beam divergence, EFL, etc of various types of optics
  • Work on projects from concept development and bring them to completion at the product delivery stage, including initial debugging and sustaining efforts side by side with the manufacturing team
