Leidos Defense Systems is currently seeking a talented Event Support Engineer, you’ll directly support the Agile Software Development in achieving specific program objectives in support of our nation’s defense. In this role, you will respond to issues and observations with the delivered software applications, perform root cause analysis and document findings.  As well, analyze user needs and develop software solutions for our customer. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, be a strong team player, and can establish solid working relationships with peers and technical staff members within the program.

Primary Responsibilities

.

• Perform high-level root cause analysis to include troubleshooting and debugging of software programs and analyze system requirements.
• Collaborate with other experts within the program and in the user community to assist with the design, develop, and debugging of existing software.
• Contribute to software development activities as a member of a kanban team and actively visit lab sites, participate in customer meetings and related team activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and application of the Agile methodologies within a technical/engineering environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and deliver presentations
• Must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an Agile development methodology including best practices such as automated tests, continuous integration, shared ownership, pull requests, and code reviews
• Experience scripting with OO programming languages (Python, java)
• Prior work using collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Fusion, Gitlab)
• Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Missile Defense

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
