This position has the responsibility and authority to apply technical expertise towards failure confirmation, refurbishment, and troubleshooting solutions of technical problems. This position will involve working with internal customers to service products to support external customers.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Technician II is responsible for supporting the failure confirmation and refurbishment of cutting-edge Navigation products used in the medical field.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, testing, diagnosing, and documenting components returned from the field.
Assisting in requirements gathering, estimating, and planning efforts for test equipment and refurbishment processes.
Performing refurbishment of Navigation products to support customer needs.
Interfacing with operations, technical services, and complaint handling groups.
Participating in on-going professional development and continuous improvement activities.
Following Medtronic product development standards and practices.
Willingness and ability to assume increased responsibility.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
Light shipping /warehouse duties required on most days.
All other duties as assigned.
Travel requirement: less than 25%
NICE TO HAVE
Working knowledge of computers, network components, electromagnetic systems, optical systems, and/or electrical safety testing.
Experience in a medical service-provider or highly regulated environment
Understanding of HIPAA and GDPR
Experience with SAP and SalesForce
Experience dealing directly with servicing external customers and internal customers
Understanding of DMAIC problem solving methodologies
Interest in continuous improvement
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt / DMAIC certification
Forklift experience
Some warehouse duties including forklift experience are a plus.
TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM: Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$49,200.00 - $73,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
