About the Role 

We’re seeking a passionate, experienced, and collaborative developer to join our Framework team. As a key player shaping the direction of our teams, you’ll:

- Direct the development of our modernized Caption Editing and Dubbing tools (React + Remix, Rails backend)

- Modernize our core Audio Description and Transcription tools

- Mentor developers in front-end best practices

- Establish patterns and extend component libraries

- Contribute to full-stack development across our platform

The Ideal Candidate is:

- Skilled in front-end development, especially React

- Proficient with modern UI libraries (e.g. shadcn, tailwind)

- Knowledgeable of backend-for-frontend frameworks (e.g., Remix)

- Familiar with backend frameworks like Rails

- Eager to take ownership and solve complex problems

- A clear communicator, especially with developers and stakeholders

- Well-versed in code design patterns

- Experienced with front-end and end-to-end testing

- Opinionated yet flexible in approach

You’ll thrive here if you’re passionate about clean, efficient code design and can balance robust architecture with practical delivery. Your expertise will influence our core UI tools, used by our human reviewers, ops experts, and customers across our caption generation, audio description, and AI dubbing offerings.

Bonus Skills:

- Collaborative / Multiplayer UI (e.g. PartyKit, Yjs, Liveblocks)

- Video and media transcoding and web streaming

- LLM applications in code writing/refactoring and media transcript processing

- Observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, RUM)

- Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)

- CI/CD systems (we use Github Actions with a sprinkle of CircleCI)

- Video captioning and caption formats
