Requirements
  • You have staff- or principal-equivalent engineering depth and have built and operated systems that real businesses depend on.
  • You write clean, idiomatic code in at least one of Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript and can work in any of them.
  • You have experience with distributed systems, including idempotency, partial failure, retry semantics, eventual consistency, schema evolution, and multi-tenant isolation.
  • You have built or operated non-trivial data infrastructure on a modern data stack such as Kafka, Spark, dbt, Iceberg, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or a comparable platform.
  • You can structure services and defend technical decisions clearly.
  • You can read a machine learning paper, build infrastructure around a model trained by someone else, and form an informed view of where machine learning belongs in the stack.
  • You are comfortable making decisions in an ambiguous, evolving product and platform environment.
Responsibilities
  • Own a core platform area end-to-end, including design, implementation, operations, and long-term technical direction.
  • Build and operate the cross-portfolio data platform, including the Iceberg data lake, query-engine integrations, per-portfolio-company S3 and KMS isolation, ingestion pipelines, canonical data models, catalog, and semantic layer.
  • Build backend services for identity, access control, audit, workflow orchestration, and internal APIs used by field development engineers and operations engineers.
  • Design multi-tenant data, compute, and credential boundaries, cross-cloud AWS and Azure connectivity, and regional data residency capabilities.
  • Build the workflow and action runtime with typed action surfaces, idempotency, retries, rollback paths, human-in-the-loop approval gates, and audit trails.
  • Build observability and evaluation infrastructure, including traces, metrics, structured logs, replay infrastructure, regression suites, and controlled A/B testing.
  • Design autonomy tiers, kill switches, per-action-class blast-radius caps, and audit surfaces to limit the impact of incorrect actions.
  • Design and implement service architectures, APIs, and software systems that remain correct, observable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Write documentation, make migration paths clear, and improve developer experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior staff or principal engineer experience at a high-bar engineering organization.
  • Experience with Iceberg, Polaris, Snowflake, or Databricks at scale.
  • Multi-tenant software-as-a-service or platform infrastructure experience.
  • Production experience with large-language-model-driven systems, including evaluations and observability.
  • Background in offline reinforcement learning, contextual bandits, or sequential decision-making.
  • Open-source contributions to data infrastructure, observability, or developer tooling projects.

Beacon Software acquires E2E Soccer to create Canada's leading integrated soccer platform

Beacon Software has acquired E2E Soccer Limited, combining it with PowerUp Sports to create Canada's only full-stack soccer technology platform. E2E Soccer, which supported over 100 leagues, 7,500 teams and 120,000 games across Canada in 2025, will merge with PowerUp to offer an integrated solution covering player registration through league competition. The combined platform will streamline registration, roster verification, league scheduling, referee assignment and discipline management. Both E2E Soccer and PowerUp Sports will continue operating under their current brands and leadership, with existing customer contracts and service levels unchanged.
