Requirements
  • A Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • A current, unencumbered, active South Carolina LPN/LVN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The ability to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and of laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
  • The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • The ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality care.
  • The ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry that weight at least 50 feet.
  • The ability to meet the facility's general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • The ability to assist in evacuating residents during emergency situations when necessary.
  • The ability to maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants and ensure they comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and nursing standards.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing assignments, and work assignments with nursing and support personnel.
  • Review and recommend revisions to department policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, medical forms, evaluations, studies, charting, census reports, charge slips, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of user credentials and residents' protected health information, and report unauthorized information-system access.
  • Complete records and charts for resident admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Receive telephone orders from physicians and transcribe orders to resident charts, medication cards, treatment plans, and care plans.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and ensure accurate narcotic records.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and make staffing, transfer, and dismissal recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Make rounds, provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, monitor work assignments, and report problem areas.
  • Receive and give nursing reports at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Inform personnel about new admissions and orient residents and families to the facility.
  • Review resident charts, care plans, treatment orders, and diets, and ensure care is delivered according to each resident's plan and wishes.
  • Coordinate physician, diagnostic, therapeutic, social, activity, transportation, discharge, and post-mortem services as required.
  • Perform nursing services including catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, blood collection, range-of-motion exercises, and specimen collection.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure, and monitor seriously ill residents.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin about accidents, incidents, or changes in residents' conditions.
  • Participate in quality assurance, facility surveys, infection control, safety, disaster preparedness, and hazardous-exposure reporting programs.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training, orientation, clinical supervision, and continuing education activities for nursing personnel.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary nursing areas, adequate medication and equipment stock, safe equipment operation, personal protective equipment availability, and infection-control procedures.
  • Assist with resident assessment and care-plan activities, including scheduling and revising the Minimum Data Set and associated resident assessment protocols.
  • Provide data to the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as requested.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
