We’re actively seeking a talented Sr. Billing Specialist to join our new Workforce Benefits division.
This role can be hybrid and based in Omaha, NE. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Sr Billing Coordinator, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by helping to support the billing lifecycle for our employers and brokers. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of 11 people in the Workforce Benefits division. Your colleagues will include our other billing professionals and fellow operational professionals.
How you’ll help move us forward:
Partner with Billing Team to advice on best practices and recommend innovative solutions for the end-to-end billing administration for our newly created Workforce Benefits Division including the development of processes and procedures aligned to system capabilities and product features.
Provide User Acceptance Testing support for end-to-end billing functions and processes.
Responsible for working with brokers, employers, account specialists, and other internal stakeholders (like Onboarding, Employer Services, and Underwriting) on the end-to-end administration of our billing process.
Proactively identifies and partners with employer / broker to resolve billing discrepancies and works with UW to resolve any over/under paid premium then validate go-forward accuracy.
Research billing related questions & audits using the banking, administrative system and prior communications to answer questions and offer solutions to customer issues and/or requests
Educates and encourages employers to utilize our best practices through the adoption of digital and portal billing capabilities.
Identify and recommend solutions to increase automation results and suggest areas to build straight-through processing.
Helps onboard new team members.
Works within departmental, internal and SOX controls for all aspects of the role including the issue of refunds and disbursements to customers.
Must know our product offering, system(s), and processes as well as understand how data flows throughout the employer and employee journeys.
Participates and contributes to team meetings or special tasks and assignments and brings innovative ideas and a continuous improvement mindset to the department.
Job performance must meet department standards for work prioritization, productivity, quality and timeliness.
Identifies, understands and ensures that actions, behaviors and decisions are consistent with the department, division and Pacific Life Mission & Vision.
The experience you bring:
College degree or equivalent experience preferred
3-5 years of financial services, accounting, accounts receivable and/or insurance operations experience
Detail oriented
Effective communicator with externally facing presence
Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skillset.
Requires strong analytical skills and math proficiency
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
Intermediate skills with MS office applications with advanced excel skills
Will need to gain expert knowledge of Pacific Life’s workforce benefits platforms such as policy admin and workflow tools.
Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.
Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$28.30 - $34.58
