  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of full-time professional experience in embedded systems hardware design, preferably in a regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of design documentation practices (e.g., DHF, risk, traceability, test protocols)
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, board layout, mixed-signal circuit design, and microcontroller-based system development
  • Familiarity with FDA design control requirements and product lifecycle documentation
  • Experience supporting medical devices in the field
  • Knowledge of IEC 60601 and other relevant electrical/medical standards
  • Experience improving document management systems and change control processes
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and driven to innovate

Responsibilities
  • Lead design of embedded electrical systems for complex surgical devices
  • Select and integrate sensors, actuators, and other critical components for optimal performance and manufacturability
  • Architect high-performance, low-power electronics, including mixed-signal and microcontroller-based systems
  • Define and improve best practices for documentation and design traceability
  • Design and develop PCBs (rigid, flex, and rigid-flex), motor control systems, and embedded systems
  • Drive design verification, validation, and automated testing of electrical assemblies and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, product) to ensure system-level integration and compliance
  • Support fielded products through well-documented troubleshooting and design updates
Desired Qualifications
  • Bonus: FPGA design experience (VHDL/Verilog), simulation, synthesis, and timing optimization for medical or similarly high-reliability systems
