Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • The ability to effectively and clearly communicate with others to exchange information effectively.
  • The ability to administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
  • The ability to manually take patient vital signs.
  • The ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • The ability to react calmly and effectively in a difficult or emergent situation.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between clinics.
  • The ability to operate a computer keyboard at 50 words per minute, calculator, telephone, copier, and fax.
  • The ability to handle and lift up to 20 pounds, with prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and full-range body motion.
Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to exam rooms; obtain vital signs, past and present medical history, and current medication lists.
  • Effectively communicate allergy testing and treatment protocols to patients.
  • Administer subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections.
  • Conduct thorough and accurate spirometry testing.
  • Perform all testing and treatment in accordance with Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures.
  • Navigate the electronic health record system to record accurate patient health information.
  • Serve patients and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
  • Assist in answering incoming and outgoing phone calls and provide accurate information.
  • Track clinical inventory and resupply when needed.
  • Ensure that end-of-day reports and logs are accurate and complete.
  • Follow all HIPAA rules and regulations, including confidentiality of patient information.
  • Adhere to Aspire Allergy's protocols and safety measures.
  • Adhere to OSHA requirements, including universal precautions and sharps disposal guidelines.
  • Become proficient in the Practice Management side of the electronic health record.
  • Obtain computed tomography authorizations.
  • Scan patient documents and medical records and attach them to charts.
  • Check patients in, including obtaining demographics, primary care provider, contact, and insurance information.
  • Check patients out, including taking payment.
  • Communicate a patient's out-of-pocket maximum.
  • Send end-of-day emails to appropriate parties.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Enroll patients in their treatment of choice.
  • Provide full-cycle clinic support through cross-training in front-office and back-office duties.
  • Maintain availability Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with hours varying, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or degree.
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • At least 1 year of Medical Receptionist experience.
  • A Medical Assistant certificate, vocational nurse license, or related experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
