Responsibilities
  • Leads small to medium change management efforts while collaborating on larger, transformational initiatives.
  • Focuses on the people side of change and influencing behavior, including efforts that involve changes to people, processes, technology and/or culture, to realize business outcomes and benefits.
  • Builds an integrated approach and implements change management, communication, and training plans that minimize employee/field resistance and enhance engagement to drive adoption of change.
  • Collaborates with leaders, stakeholders, sponsors, and project teams to develop overall plans for navigating change, identifying the scope and impact of change.
  • Applies NM emphasized change methodology and process to deliver the people side of change that is required to achieve our desired business outcomes.
  • Identifies potential people-related risks and anticipated points of resistance and develops and recommends specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.
  • Develops change management plans and activities, including training, communication, and sponsorship.
  • Designs and implements actionable and targeted change plans to meet deliverables and achieve stated objectives, using established tools and techniques.
  • Guides others to implement the plans, to drive adoption and optimize business benefits.
  • Owns the potential change impacts to people, process, technology, organization, and culture.
  • Identifies scope and impact of changes and calls out change plan gaps or deficiencies within projects or business group and provides updates to leaders as needed.
  • Educates, influences, aligns, and coaches sponsors, leaders, and project teams to drive effective change, manage resistance, and optimize the success of the project.
  • Ensures change strategy and ownership is in place and functioning for the full duration of the change adoption phase to realize stated business outcomes.
  • Participates as an active member of the NM change community to advance change competencies of the company.
  • Adopts and promotes common NM enterprise-wide change process, methodology and language.
  • Promotes and advocates for the practice of organizational change management throughout the Enterprise, including seeking and applying external perspective and benchmarking change practices.

Northwestern Mutual pledges $3M+ to build 90 affordable homes in Milwaukee's Amani neighborhood

Northwestern Mutual has committed more than $3 million over three years to construct over 90 affordable homes in Milwaukee's Amani neighbourhood. The investment supports the company's goal of completing 500 affordable homes in Milwaukee by 2030. The funding is part of the City of Milwaukee's 2026 "Year of Housing" initiative and involves partnerships with Dominican Center, Amani United, Community Development Alliance, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity and other local organisations. In Amani, where over 64% of homes were built before 1940 and only 32% of residents own homes, the project aims to expand homeownership and economic advancement. Since 2020, Northwestern Mutual has provided more than $10 million in housing grants across Milwaukee, supporting new construction, repairs, counselling and food access.
