Position Overview:
We are seeking a Manager, Operational Fraud & CI Analytics to take the lead on designing and implementing analytics frameworks to scope and evaluate key initiatives, projects and programs within our department. As part of the Operational Fraud & CI (OFCI) team within Shipt Operations, your skills will be leveraged to assist in not only delivering valuable analytics insights and reporting but also with building out this capability in our organization. The essential nature of this role is to assist our department with determining what data we need, how to obtain it, how to ensure that it is the right data and then compile it in a way that we can use it to make sound, data-driven decisions on some of the company’s most critical strategic priorities, new opportunities and challenges.
This position will take the lead on all things data and analytics. As the expert in this area, you will support various leaders in the OFCI department both with any ongoing reporting needs as well as ad hoc/discovery related questions as they arise. Additionally, this position should also contribute suggestions for how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our analytics work by recommending better tooling, automation expansion, new data sources, etc.
Key skills required for this role include strong problem-solving abilities, the ability to work collaboratively, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated skills in influencing others and outcomes. The role is an individual contributor position but it interacts cross-functionally with many departments throughout Shipt including with other operations departments, finance, data science, engineering, product, etc and occasionally external parties as well and will therefore be involved in and sometimes lead large teams.
How you can make an impact:
Gather and analyze data to support various fraud prevention strategies and programs as well as other key Operations initiatives
Interpret data from key databases such as Tableau, Snowflake and Admin, analyze results and provide ongoing reports highlighting key insights, not just numbers
Assess and monitor data quality and assist with addressing any concerns or shortcomings
Understand business context and wear a business hat to deliver answers/solutions that fit the business need
Build dashboards to measure the impact of strategic initiatives through key metrics, trends and insights to enable data driven decision-making
Monitor and track key metrics. Commission needed analysis as needed in order to evaluate our tactics and programs as well as to communicate out progress
Partner with finance, Cybersecurity, CI, Operations group, product, data science, engineering and others to provide needed information, influence decisions and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our business processes, technologies and approaches
Perform other duties as assigned.
About you:
Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business, engineering, operations or related field
5+ years of with relevant experience in business or data analytics, program/project management, consulting or other highly analytical role
Ability to design & run statistical experiments and provide sound recommendations
Ability to extract data from Snowflake and other databases as needed. Skills in writing complex and efficient SQL queries is a plus
Highly skilled at Excel, GSuite, Excel, Tableau and Python. Experience with PowerBI or similar tools is also a plus
Track record of effectively facilitating meetings and quickly establishing trust and credibility to grow business relationships vital to the success of our programs, initiatives, etc.
3+ years working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong team-player who is adaptable and able to work independently
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, fun environment and manage multiple priorities all while meeting deadlines
High degree of personal integrity
Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Online delivery and/or retail industry experience preferred
Employees (and eligible family members) are covered by medical, dental, and vision. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and 56 hours of paid sick leave (accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 25 hours worked). Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units.
Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York City: $86,357 - $172,715
All Other Locations: $72,035 - $143,964
Work Arrangement:
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis.
