Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree In Physical or Occupational therapy required
  • 3-5 years experience as a practicing therapist required
  • 1-2 years prior supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation services and patient care

Responsibilities
  • Performs patient assessment
  • Establishes plan of care
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals
  • Provides care in accordance with physician’s orders and established plan of care
  • Assesses educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver or significant other and provides education to meet those needs
  • Plans for discharge
  • Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefit of care
  • Completes all documentation required to support the services provided and meet organizational, clinical and reimbursement requirements
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, fellow workers, medical staff and visitors
  • Works as part of a team
  • Attends staff meetings, providing input and evaluation into unit strategic plans, operations and performances improvement
  • Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment
  • Promotes good public relations for the department and the hospital while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality
  • Applies and implements the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility
  • Demonstrates organizational support competencies
  • Performs patient evaluation procedures, develops and implements treatment plans, and plans for measurable patient outcomes
  • Delegates the implementation of treatment plans to the respective therapy assistant, as appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
