Requirements
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse through the New York State Board of Nursing.
  • At least two years of medical-surgical or critical-care/emergency-room experience.
  • At least one year of recent infusion experience.
  • Current PPD and current hands-on CPR certification.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and decisive judgment and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned geographic region and work alternate shifts on short notice, with availability for on-call field visits.
  • Consent to a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Provide in-home infusions within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide quality care to patients requiring intravenous therapy in the home or an alternate setting.
  • Administer and teach self-administration of specialty pharmacy infusion therapies for patients with rare, chronic, and acute diseases in the home, infusion suites, or physician offices.
  • Access and maintain peripheral intravenous lines, central venous access devices, peripherally inserted central catheters, midlines, implanted ports, subcutaneous immunoglobulin, and perform phlebotomy while following infection-control measures.
  • Infuse intravenous immunoglobulin, subcutaneous immunoglobulin, Alpha-1 antitrypsin products, biologic response modifiers, and enzyme-replacement products in the home setting.
  • Administer and train patients on injectables in the home-care setting.
  • Coordinate nursing-care delivery planning with the Director of Nursing and make appropriate clinical decisions in patient care.
  • Proactively update clients' and patients' plans of care, health changes, and related incidents.
  • Apply knowledge of age-specific physiological and developmental differences across patient populations.
  • Ensure safe patient care and follow policies, procedures, and standards for time management, supply management, productivity, and service quality.
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other emergency procedures as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Infusion nursing experience, including IVIG or specialty infusion experience.
  • Home health experience.
