Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is desired.
  • At least 3 years of automotive sales experience, including digital sales, digital lead management, or a related sales leadership role, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of customer relationship management systems and lead-tracking platforms is required.
  • Strong communication and team training and coaching skills are required.
  • A proven track record of improving closing ratios and lead conversion is required.
  • Knowledge of dealership financial statements, basic mathematical concepts and their application, automotive finance, equity values and depreciation, and laws governing retail automotive sales is required.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other employees and oversee the work of subordinates is required.
  • Ability to interview, hire, and develop employees and create and perform corrective actions and performance appraisals is required.
  • Ability to use good judgment in challenging situations or emergencies is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English is required.
  • Ability to learn and understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales is required.
  • Ability to work with the public and communicate professionally by phone, internet, and in person is required.

  • A valid sales driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record are required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the dealership’s digital lead management, internet-based sales strategy, and phone-based customer engagement.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the digital sales department while measuring salesperson performance.
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all digital sales representatives.
  • Direct and schedule the activities of sales representatives to ensure proper staffing.
  • Forecast monthly and annual sales, gross, and key expense goals and objectives with the General Sales Manager.
  • Set sales and gross objectives for new and used car salespeople as directed by dealership leadership.
  • Guide digital salespeople in setting short- and long-range objectives.
  • Communicate dealership policies and procedures to salespeople and ensure they are followed.
  • Assist in developing improvement programs for salespeople who fail to reach their objectives.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales training meetings as directed by the General Sales Manager.
  • Provide product and training resources for salespeople on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Oversee digital lead handling from first contact through close.
  • Monitor internet-lead response rates and ensure sales representatives maintain proper follow-up procedures.
  • Monitor Lexus Lead View, including Lexus closing ratios, lost lead reports, and Lexus Financial Services leads.
  • Oversee customer relationship management reporting, ensure data accuracy, and maintain working knowledge of customer relationship management systems and lead-tracking platforms.
  • Partner with the Sales BDC Manager to identify and implement customer relationship management process improvements.
  • Manage inbound phone handling, including lease-retention calls.
  • Monitor and train the Telephone Center on call-handling best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to Mystery Shop best practices.
  • Handle guest concerns requiring management attention promptly and tactfully.
  • Ensure guest inconveniences, concerns, and misunderstandings are resolved fairly and quickly.
  • Develop and execute private-purchase strategy, including service-to-sales acquisition initiatives.
  • Desk deals and provide sign-off or approval on deal structures.
  • Assist salespeople in closing deals and funding loans.
  • Appraise trade-in vehicles as needed.
  • Achieve sales and forecasted goals and improve closing ratios and lead conversion.
  • Process salesperson commission sheets and monitor salesperson payroll records.
  • Assist in other areas of the Sales department and perform administrative duties as needed.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and a professional appearance.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Use hands and fingers in repetitive motions, including operating a computer and phone system for most of the workday.
  • Move throughout the dealership occasionally, including the sales floor and service department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Lexus or luxury automotive brands is preferred.
  • Some college education is desired.
