We are looking for a Senior Quality & Technical Manager who will lead and manage the Quality and Technical team and will lead strategic, data driven initiatives and manage the processes necessary to ensure ingredients and packaging meets our rigorous quality standards and come from the safest production sites. Reporting to the Director of FSQA, you will assess suppliers and act as the gatekeeper of the supply chain. You will also work closely with internal and international stakeholders to develop and implement a robust product specification program that will be leveraged to drive quality to the next level. As part of the FSQA team, you will play a key role in meeting an aggressive set of objectives that will further elevate the level of quality standards at HelloFresh and ensure we deliver a consistently positive experience for our customers. This hybrid role will be located at our headquarters in Downtown Toronto and will need to travel 50% of the time between our Distribution Centers and suppliers across Canada.

• Lead a team of Quality & Technical Managers and support them in achieving assigned goals and objectives. Responsible for their hiring, onboarding, training and career development. 
• Develop robust KPIs specific for the Q&T team with assigned targets based on strategic objectives assigned from the local and Global senior leadership team.
• Analyze data (errors, NPS) to identify strategic opportunities to lead and drive quality improvement via changes to product and process, both within our Distribution Centers and at our Supplier’s production facilities.
• Lead the development of updated specification standards for the designated categories as part of QMS program; ensure quality, safety and sustainability fields align with HelloFresh policies and requirements.
• Assure ongoing compliance with SEDEX, internal quality, shelf-life, authenticity, and microbial requirements.
• Support technical risk assessments and root cause analysis on ad-hoc issues identified at the DCs as well as cross-department projects related to product improvement.
• Lead and support local, national and global strategic FSQA initiatives, driving continuous improvement initiatives at all levels, including upstream with approved suppliers.

• Post-secondary education in Biological or Food Sciences, or equivalent work experience (at least 7 years) in a similar role within food manufacturing, assembly, or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of federal and local government regulations with strong familiarity of the SFCA/R highly regarded.
• In depth knowledge of food safety systems and HACCP principles and experience implementing and maintaining HACCP plans.
• Background in food microbiology is a major asset.
• Data driven approach towards problem solving.
• Experience in conducting audits  including supplier, Internal and 3rd party audit (CFIA, BRC, SQF).
• Proven project management experience including demonstrated change management competency.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast paced environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, committed with a can-do flexible attitude.
• Embrace change, challenge and work in an autonomous way.
