  • Ability to independently develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to unique engineering problems.
  • Prior experience as a Civil Structural Analysis lead (CSA) on major capital projects is required.
  • Ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects.
  • Ability to assemble and review bid packages for large scale civil/structural work scopes.
  • Proactively provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.).
  • Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D and Risa Foundation preferred).
  • Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project.
  • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
  • Independently apply knowledge and continuously develop quality program for Civil/Structural Analysis department (CSA); establish related processes and promote a culture conducive to quality; provide guidance and direction to others and support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required.
  • Has the ability to develop detailed sketches necessary for completing engineering drawings.
  • Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice.
  • Education:Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions.
  • Registration: Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.).
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expertise with civil/structural analysis software including operating and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the discipline specific methods, practices and techniques required to engineer, design and construct process and manufacturing projects.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to lead a small to medium team to deliver on commitments.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
