Requirements
  • One year of related athletic training experience.
  • NATABOC certification and CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Must possess or obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain a valid Texas driver's license with no more than three moving violations and/or at-fault accidents within the past 36 months, and no convictions or deferred dispositions for Driving While Intoxicated or Driving Under the Influence within the past five years.
  • Good communication, administrative, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record keeping.
  • Working knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive healthcare for student athletes.
  • Prevent, care for, and treat athletic injuries and supervise equipment and physical therapy modalities.
  • Provide care, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses on campus and at game venues.
  • Collaborate frequently with physical therapists regarding rehabilitation progress and return-to-play planning for injured athletes.
  • Provide daily injury reports and report injured athletes' status and progress to team physicians, managers, and coaches on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain a safe environment, medical supplies, and emergency readiness for athletes at all sanctioned practices and events at home and away venues.
  • Maintain athletic training and satellite facilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical information, adhere to regulatory requirements, and comply with team physician guidelines.
  • Serve as a first responder in emergency situations.
  • Stay current with training room procedures.
  • Maintain medical records and coordinate athletic training care for athletes.
  • Advise coaches on training and conditioning programs.
  • Evaluate the progress of injured athletes.
  • Determine injured athletes' availability for re-entry into participation.
  • Instruct and prepare student-trainers for licensure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
