Distribution Supervisor

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). 

Role Definition
The Distribution Supervisor provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure.

• This position is located in Corinth, MS and relocation is not available at this time

• This is a 1st shift position, Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 2:00pm

• This role oversees employees at 3 warehouses and will need to travel daily to each site (Approximately half a mile apart)

• Distribution Supervisors may need to work required overtime depending on the needs of the business

Responsibilities

• Making workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.

• Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.

• Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements. Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.

• Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations

• Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

• Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.

• Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.

• Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers
