Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Structure Engineering/ Naval Architect or related engineering disciplines
  • 10 years of working experiences in the planning, construction and structural design with specializing in Topside Module Structure
  • Experience in a wide range offshore Topside structures (FPSO, FPU, Jacket, etc.)
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, STAAP,SACS etc. others common industry Topside structure analysis softwares.
  • Possess working knowledge and experience in Topside structure design.
  • Possesses ability to perform and experience in some of the engineering analysis techniques and tools/software applications used in Topside structural engineering
  • Possesses ability to perform required analysis and deliver class approved documents and Topside structural drawings
  • Possesses ability to perform check, review and comment the Topside structure basic design and detail drawings
  • Familiar with different kind of Topside structure material codes, standards, specifications with knowledge of material selection,material take-off, material procurement.
  • Knowledge of Topside Structure design code and standards, such as AISC, API
Responsibilities
  • Reviews the preparation of key project documentation including project construction specifications, project execution plan (PEP), equipment data sheets, bid packages and contract construction documentation
  • Reviews and checks rough sketches, drawings, specifications and other engineering data received from team members on basic structural design using engineering common network, software and tools
  • Leads discussion with team and other engineering team members (i.e.stability & mooring, general design and weight control), including subcontractors and consultants on technical issues and design solutions
  • Directs team responsible for verification/ validation of final Structural design drawings for the execution of Structural fabrication and construction in the EPCC projects
  • Leads team in project meeting, attends to technical queries and issues related to basic structural design and reviews design deliverables on project facilities, fabrication, transportion and installation
  • Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
  • Generates reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval
  • Directs team’s progress in delivering Structural requirements for all projects from conceptual front-end engineering design (FEED) to detailed engineering activities
  • Independently performs studies on a new range of offshore structures and vessels, analysing the basic structure design suitability to meet their operational needs and environment setting
  • Checks design calculation (i.e.longitudinal and hull strength scantling, steel materials and etc.) prepared by team members based on standard engineering techniques, practices and fundamentals in specific situations for data adjustments and correlations
  • Independently formulates welding plans, specifications, drawings and sequences for joints and structural members, including main structure NDT Plan, structural tank test plan, structural categorisation and etc.
  • Provides review on structure analysis on main structure from engineering sketches, specifications related data and drawings to ensure design adequacy of structural members and details in main foundational framework
  • Performs the constructability review related to Project Execution Plan basing on 3D model and structural basic or detail design drawing.

Ge Vernova And Seatrium Consortium Awarded Third Contract To Build Hvdc System For Tennet?S Offshore Grid Project In The Netherlands

Monday, 10 June 2024The project is expected to begin in June 2024, with commissioning expected by 2031. The contract is part of the five-year Framework Cooperation Agreement with TenneT announced by the GE Vernova-Seatrium consortium in March 2023. The agreement was signed to cover three projects, each valued at approximately EURO 2 billion: IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma, and Nederwiek 2. The current contract is for Nederwiek 2, TenneT’s third project with this consortium. The contracts for IJmuiden Ver Beta and IJmuiden Ver Gamma were awarded to the consortium in March 2023.The HVDC system will support TenneT's sustainability goal of connecting 40 GW of offshore wind energy in the German and Dutch North Sea and will serve the Nederwiek 2 offshore wind farm, located approximately 95 kilometres off the coast of the Netherlands.“With the successful call-off of Nederwiek 2 from the Framework Cooperation Agreement with our Partners GE Vernova and Seatrium, we are now starting into the delivery of the third project with this consortium” said Dr. Johannes Kammer, Associate Director of Large Projects Offshore - 2GW, TenneT
