The Finance Center of Excellence (COE) is a new organization we’re standing up to centralize and standardize select financial planning and analysis activities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic capacity across LinkedIn’s finance organization. This team will focus on creating leverage for the broader finance teams by consolidating tactical and routine operational tasks to drive efficiency for our strategic finance partners. This team will also support the discovery and adoption of advanced technologies, ensuring scalability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
This Director will be immediately tasked with making key hires, defining the team charter, and delivering across current and future priorities as the leader of the Finance COE. This leader should have a proven track record in standing up and leading high-performing teams and should have prior experience in finance, operations, and scaling initiatives. This leader will also be expected to own critical stakeholder relationships with Finance leaders across the CFO org, both evangelizing the COE to ensure buy-in and inbound work requests, and also delivering against critical business needs for partner teams.

Responsibilities
Hire and lead diverse team of Finance and Operations professionals (full-time and contractors)
Set vision for Finance COE, including immediate and long-term scope of work portfolio, and hold team accountable to clearly defined success metrics
Set clear roadmap for team over 1–2-year horizon in alignment with business and stakeholder priorities; Provide executive decision making and ensure appropriate trade-off considerations are applied, when aligning on team’s committed work and future opportunities
Identify new opportunities and drive inbound requests for the Finance COE to drive leverage and efficiency within the CFO organization; make novel strategy recommendations to maximize value created
Develop deep understanding of current LinkedIn operational / financial processes that can be automated/centralized in the COE; Work through nuances of centralization
Create new processes and drive new ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the CFO organization as a whole; Identify when there is an opportunity to centralize, outsource, optimize, or automate various work
Leverage insights, data, internal/external trends, and narratives to influence stakeholders and executive leadership
Drive alignment by synthesizing problems and communicate point of view to support decision-making on strategic issues affecting the Finance COE and broader CFO organization
Lead and develop multiple complex workstreams, projects, and/or operational processes within the CFO organization
Anticipate obstacles and leverage expertise to recommend and drive implementation of innovative solutions
Provide leadership and direction to the Finance COE; foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
Oversee coaching and provide actionable, concrete project-oriented feedback to colleagues and/or partners and initiate upward feedback
Identify and support opportunities for people development, movement, and transformation across the team and company
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience.
A minimum of 4 years of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
A minimum of 7 years of people management experience
of experience in the technology industry
Experience leading operational workstreams, including automation or optimization initiatives
Experience working with / managing external vendor contracts
Experience leading analytical / technical teams
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, including knowledge of tools like Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, R, or similar
Suggested Skills
LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $171,000 to $278,000.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
