Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communication, or marketing is required.
  • At least two years of experience in marketing or a related field is required, ideally in the Architecture, Engineering, or Contracting industry.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing, editing, and preparing long documents is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Adobe InDesign is required.
  • Research and reporting skills, including the ability to collect and summarize relevant background information on clients, pursuits, or markets, are required.
  • The ability to collaborate with colleagues remotely is required.
  • Relationship management skills and the ability to develop productive working relationships with technical staff at all levels are required.
  • The ability to work independently, plan, multitask, maintain an efficient approach, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • The ability to perform consistent work on a personal computer with prolonged monitor use is required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as needed is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support proposal production and deliverables by preparing qualification materials for competitive pursuits in collaboration with technical staff.
  • Produce proposals, Statements of Qualifications, cut sheets, staff resumes, and other competitive qualification materials that are persuasive, brand-consistent, and compliant.
  • Partner with technical staff to develop outlines, write and edit proposal sections, prepare and design final documents, submit final packages, meet proposal deadlines and submittal requirements, and proof documents for accuracy and quality.
  • Support business-development efforts by helping technical staff position for opportunities, preparing for proposal interviews and debrief sessions, advising on value propositions and strategy, and aligning messaging and outreach to drive growth and client relationships.
  • Evaluate new opportunities and coordinate with technical staff to implement the go/no-go decision-making process.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and distribute qualification-based opportunities to technical staff.
  • Monitor relevant contracting and bid platforms and maintain the company’s information and profile.
  • Use the internal tracking system to manage pursuits from initial request for proposals or request for qualifications receipt through award or loss, ensuring accountability, timelines, and coordination.
  • Support marketing and business-development initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic and annual business plans.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry and market trends and use it to determine effective ways to meet business and client needs.
  • Conduct targeted research to inform pursuit strategy.
  • Work with technical leaders to manage strategic and programmatic engagement with major clients.
  • Maintain client and partner relationships and use industry networks to foster contacts and build collaborative connections.
  • Coordinate and attend client-outreach events and conferences, participate in local agencies and organizations, and promote the company’s brand and services.
  • Analyze pursuit performance and provide recommendations to strengthen future business-development efforts.
  • Maintain the company’s brand identity and strategy across internal and external communications, including visual design standards, written voice, messaging, and consistent representation of values and technical expertise.
  • Support technical staff presentations, technical papers, website and official social-media content, award applications, and targeted campaigns.
  • Support the internal communication program through local and corporate reporting, standard-channel messages, targeted internal campaigns, culture initiatives, staff-experience efforts, and behavior-change communications.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Contracting industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications beyond Adobe InDesign is a plus.
