As Director of Civil Engineering, you’ll guide and design a wide range of site development projects, mentor a growing civil team, and serve as the trusted partner for clients from start to finish. You’ll also play a key strategic role in shaping the direction of their civil practice, identifying growth opportunities, and optimizing processes. What You’ll Do:

• Lead and manage civil engineers while managing and designing your own projects.
• Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and play an active role in the hiring process.
• Drive the growth of both in-house and independent civil projects.
• Oversee zoning, site and land development, setbacks, stormwater management, subdivision, utility, and erosion-control design.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding projects from concept through completion.
• Manage up to 90% of civil engineering work tied to architectural projects.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects across diverse sectors.
• Partner with the leadership team, project managers, project coordinators, and other civil engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Build strong, lasting client relationships while identifying opportunities for new business.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering.
• 1-3 + years of project and people management experience.
• Bachelor's degree and PE license (LPE) required.
• Strong expertise in site development, land development, and stormwater management.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D software.
• Prior survey experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working within a civil engineering firm.
• Broad project exposure across hospitality, healthcare, education, residential, corporate, and subdivision sectors.
• Excellent communication skills, professional presence, and a collaborative, people-first mindset.
