  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field & 5-8 years of industry experience
  • Experience with CAD and CAM software, such as NX or SolidWorks
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, assembly, and testing of complex mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, CNC machining, electrical hardware, and assembly techniques
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally and conveying complex ideas to diverse teams
Responsibilities
  • Optimize development and streamline the transition from design to production of key Terran-R components
  • Work with design engineers to optimize the hardware and system they operate in for delivery
  • Optimize manufacturing schedules and processes for efficient production
  • Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges in the build phase
  • Collaborate closely with teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, GNC, Avionics, and Fluids
  • Source reliable vendors and utilize internal resources effectively for the manufacture of flight hardware
  • Drive development testing and iterative design principles of mechanism flight hardware
  • Implement quality control measures and oversee testing to ensure the fidelity of final products
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with launch vehicles
  • Advanced degree in a related engineering field
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering principles for pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical mechanism design
  • A deep understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties, and quality control methods
  • Experience evaluating machine shops and other vendors
  • Hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing techniques and a willingness to innovate in this space, including the ability to assist in rapid iterative development
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools and project management software
