Requirements
  • A Florida Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Maintaining Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Maintaining compliance with continuing and mandatory education is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial patient screening upon arrival, including screening questions, vital signs, weight, allergy information, and medication history, and document the collected data accurately in the medical record.
  • Notify appropriate staff of positive screening results or abnormal vital signs.
  • Bring patients to their designated treatment areas and provide available amenities.
  • Assist practitioners with infusion care, including placement of peripheral intravenous lines and setup of required equipment.
  • Support smooth and efficient patient flow by checking patients in and out of appointments.
  • Provide patient checks, vital-sign checks, and assistance with ambulation to the restroom during infusions.
  • Start, flush, and remove peripheral intravenous lines using aseptic technique, apply bandages, and complete charting tasks as appropriate.
  • Reconstitute and administer medications when delegated and after completing required training with the supervising provider.
  • Administer subcutaneous injections as delegated by the supervising provider.
  • Educate patients about medication administration details and potential side effects.
  • Follow up with patients regarding side effects or adverse reactions as delegated by the supervising provider.
  • Coordinate with the supervising provider to deliver immediate and appropriate treatment during patient adverse reactions or emergency situations.
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and other team members.
  • Clean and sanitize infusion rooms and equipment between patients and at the end of the day.
  • Perform other duties delegated by the provider.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly preferred.
