Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree in the Building Maintenance field, or a High School Diploma/GED and two or more years of building maintenance experience.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a minimum of a Special Boiler’s License for campuses utilizing boilers.
  • A valid driver’s license, as appropriate, and an acceptable driving record meeting Benedictine requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Make daily inspections and document operating parameters of major heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain plumbing systems, maintain water quality, document water temperatures as required, and maintain boilers at campuses that utilize boilers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the electrical distribution system and perform service work within capabilities, contacting outside vendors as required for repairs.
  • Perform general building maintenance and construction work on interior and exterior surfaces as needed, and inspect patient/resident areas as requested.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Perform general repairs to facility and resident equipment, or arrange for repair by an outside source when required.
  • Operate hand and power tools and various grounds and maintenance equipment safely.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification or license as required by federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Experience in a health care setting.
