Requirements
  • At least 12 years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years leading marketing at a digital-first consumer business, with experience running a profit-and-loss statement.
  • Personally scaled paid acquisition at significant annual spend across at least three of Google, Meta, TikTok, programmatic, affiliates, or partnerships, with weekly customer-acquisition-cost and payback-period reporting to a chief financial officer or chief executive officer.
  • Owned full-funnel performance across paid marketing, search-engine optimization, conversion-rate optimization, and lifecycle/customer-relationship marketing, with a documented A/B testing cadence and a record of improving channel-level metrics.
  • Built or rebuilt a marketing analytics and attribution stack, including a customer data platform, attribution platform, and experimentation tooling; fluent in multi-touch attribution, media mix modeling, and incrementality testing.
  • Led teams of more than 15 across performance, lifecycle, analytics, and creative, including managing managers, and attracted, developed, and retained senior marketing talent.
  • Owned unit economics, including lifetime value/customer acquisition cost and payback-period discipline, in front of a chief financial officer or board.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and credibility with chief executive, chief operating, chief financial, sales, and product peers.
Responsibilities
  • Own the full marketing profit-and-loss statement and channel mix, including paid acquisition, search-engine optimization, conversion-rate optimization, lifecycle/customer-relationship marketing, and partner marketing.
  • Lead the marketing team, including talent density, culture, day-to-day leadership, and the manager bench.
  • Own, allocate, and reallocate the full marketing budget across channels, programs, agencies, and headcount using return-on-investment analysis.
  • Own the marketing technology and measurement stack, including the customer data platform, email service provider, attribution, experimentation, and business intelligence, along with data contracts with Finance and Product.
  • Establish and operate the marketing operating system, including annual planning, quarterly reforecasts, monthly business reviews, weekly channel reviews, portfolio reallocation, and a documented experimentation pipeline.
  • Manage agency, vendor, and creative-partner relationships across performance, lifecycle, creative, analytics, and public relations.
  • Own customer-acquisition strategy and channel-level customer acquisition cost and payback targets across paid media, affiliates, partnerships, and earned/search-engine-optimization channels.
  • Drive weekly testing across creative, audience, bid strategy, landing pages, and offers; report incrementality rather than only last-click attribution.
  • Lead search-engine optimization and conversion-rate optimization with targets for organic traffic share, conversion rate, and qualified-lead volume.
  • Partner with Sales and the franchise network to design referral and partner-channel programs.
  • Own lifecycle and customer-relationship marketing across email, SMS, push, and in-product surfaces, with goals for activation, retention, and cross-sell.
  • Build cohort-level visibility into renewal, churn, and policy density per household, with marketing-driven interventions.
  • Partner with Product on activation and re-engagement experiments.
  • Sharpen positioning and messaging architecture across consumer, franchise-recruiting, and business-to-business audiences.
  • Govern voice, visual identity, and creative quality across performance and brand surfaces.
  • Oversee public relations, communications, and the analyst/investor-relations partnership, and lead industry thought leadership.
  • Own the marketing data and measurement stack end-to-end, including customer data platform, attribution, experimentation, media mix modeling, and business intelligence.
  • Operate multi-touch attribution, media mix modeling, and incrementality testing, including geographic holdouts and PSA tests.
  • Run a channel-level scorecard of customer acquisition cost, payback, and lifetime value/customer acquisition cost in partnership with Finance.
  • Build, develop, and retain teams across performance marketing, lifecycle, analytics, creative, and product marketing.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the marketing organization; coach managers into directors, provide feedback, and define career paths.
  • Govern the agency, vendor, and creative-partner ecosystem with scorecards, contract leverage, and performance-based reinvestment decisions.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Finance, Technology, and the franchise network as a peer on the senior leadership team.
  • Represent Marketing externally with the board, investors, analysts, partners, and recruiting forums.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in regulated consumer financial services such as insurance, mortgage, banking, fintech, or wealth/credit, or in marketplaces and software-as-a-service platforms with strong consumer dynamics.
  • Served as a key marketing leader through a scale event such as an initial public offering, major capital raise, or multiple-times revenue ramp.
  • Experience with a franchise, agent, or independent-distribution channel layered on top of direct-to-consumer digital.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Snowflake or Databricks, Segment or mParticle, Amplitude or Mixpanel, Looker or Tableau, and a modern attribution stack such as Northbeam, Rockerbox, or Measured.
  • A quant-heavy graduate degree in statistics, economics, or engineering, or a Master of Business Administration with a strong analytical track.
