Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in incident or service management within automated, technical, or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-severity incidents, preferably in operational technology/information technology or warehouse automation.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more of the following: programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition, warehouse execution systems/warehouse management systems, controls systems, or industrial networks.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, or similar ticketing platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially during high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of coordination for Priority 1 incidents and select Priority 2 incidents affecting customer operations.
  • Lead incident bridge calls, facilitate troubleshooting efforts, and escalate issues appropriately across teams from activation to resolution.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of incident details and actions taken throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Mobilize and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Controls, Software, Infrastructure, and third parties.
  • Track investigation and restoration efforts and ensure all workstreams are aligned.
  • Engage executive stakeholders with timely, structured updates.
  • Deliver clear and concise incident communications tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure status updates are shared at agreed intervals, such as 15-, 30-, or 60-minute cadences.
  • Manage expectations of facilities operations leaders, customer support teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Initiate and facilitate post-incident reviews.
  • Partner with Engineering, Problem Management, and Customer Service to document root causes, drive corrective actions, and ensure customers are informed of resolution outcomes.
  • Recommend improvements to automation monitoring, alerting, and recovery playbooks.
  • Ensure adherence to the Incident Management policy and escalation matrix.
  • Own and report on key incident metrics, including mean time to acknowledge, mean time to resolution, and service-level agreement compliance, with regular reporting to leadership.
  • Drive process development and optimization initiatives to reduce incident frequency, severity, and customer impact.
  • Maintain and provide training on major incident playbooks, runbooks, and response templates.
Desired Qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as AutoStore, Dematic, Honeywell Intelligrated, or Swisslog.
  • Experience with on-call rotation leadership or 24/7 support environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and telemetry such as Ignition, PRTG, DataDog, or Grafana.

Fortna sold to Ares Management in deal cutting debt by $1.8B

Atlanta-based systems integrator Fortna will be acquired by Los Angeles investment firm Ares Management in a deal that reduces the company's debt by $1.8 billion and raises $150 million in cash. The transaction will transfer majority ownership to existing lenders. Fortna was previously purchased by private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners in 2019 and merged with fellow systems integrator MHS Global in 2022. The recapitalization is expected to close in the coming weeks. CEO Rob McKeel said the deal provides a stronger balance sheet and enhanced financial flexibility. The transaction will not impact vendors, suppliers, or business partners. Fortna will continue normal operations during the transition, focusing on delivering distribution and fulfilment solutions to customers.

Ramanujam is a seasoned global finance executive with more than 25 years leading organizations through growth and transformation. He brings multi-industry experience and deep expertise supporting business strategy across capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, integrations and operational enablement. Throughout his career, Ravi has overseen capital allocation, treasury management, financial planning and analysis, and turnaround initiatives in large-scale, project-driven environments. He is known for strengthening operating discipline and improving performance, with a strong focus on cash flow, margin discipline and stakeholder accountability. His leadership approach emphasizes close partnership with operational and commercial leaders to align financial strategy with execution priorities. Ramanujam joins FORTNA from Enfinity Global, where he served as CFO for the Americas, supporting a 36 GW global portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.
