Requirements
  • IBCLC certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
  • Licensed as an RN, RD, OT or SLP
  • If a registered nurse, residence in a compact nursing license state
  • Have 3+ years in a hospital and/or healthcare practice
  • Experience working with clients eligible for Medicaid and/or those accessing SNAP or WIC programs
  • Expertise in care of dyad with complex breastfeeding problems
  • Enthusiasm for promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Pomelo’s internal and external programs
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Facile with email, spreadsheets, EHRs, and other commonly used software, and willingness to work with new software
  • A growth mindset with the ability to think critically and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and take flexible weekend/evening call hours.
  • Bonus: Fluent in English and Spanish
Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one virtual lactation care via text, app messaging, phone and video calls.
  • Teach group classes and facilitate support groups.
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to build Pomelo with members of the clinical team as well as those on the Pomelo Care clinical operations, product, tech, and business teams.
  • Assist with the development and testing of patient engagement strategies
  • Develop creative patient-facing content, guideline-based clinical protocols and efficient workflows.
