Requirements
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the state of practice.
  • CPR/Basic Life Support certification is required within 60 days of hire.
  • At least two years of nursing experience with direct, hands-on patient care.
  • Ability to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and patient transport capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel to other network locations.
  • Completion of an entry-level Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program by an accredited organization, if qualifying as a hyperbaric staff nurse.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients with wounds or wound-related conditions.
  • Provide specialized, advanced wound care for patients with alterations of skin integrity.
  • Participate in the Wound Management Center’s delivery of personalized and efficient care while respecting patients’ spiritual and cultural differences.
  • Make decisions and judgments to prevent, analyze, and resolve patient-care issues and other problems.
  • Follow established plans of care and collaborate with Wound Management Center members as needed.
  • Direct the care team in the manager’s absence when directed by the manager.
  • Assess and use equipment including a handheld Doppler, cast-removal saw, and negative wound-pressure therapy equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of wounds, treatments, interventions, and expected outcomes.
  • Participate in new programs and treatment options as developed.
  • Apply offloading and interventions related to wound healing.
  • Apply knowledge of underlying comorbidities and their effects on wound healing.
  • Apply compression therapy related to wound healing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Wound care, home health, rehabilitation, burn, or critical care experience preferred.
  • Wound Care Specialist certification or commitment to obtain certification within three years of employment preferred.
  • Compact state nursing license preferred.
