Solid Power develops and produces all-solid-state battery cells aimed at enhancing the performance of electric vehicles (EVs). These batteries utilize sulfide-based solid electrolytes, which allow for efficient ion movement and easy manufacturing, resulting in batteries that are safer, more energy-dense, and cost-effective compared to traditional options. Solid Power's technology leads to lighter battery packs with longer ranges per charge, making them attractive to automakers like BMW and Ford. The company distinguishes itself from competitors through its focus on sulfide-based electrolytes, which provide a superior balance of conductivity and manufacturability. Solid Power's goal is to advance energy storage solutions to support the growth of e-mobility and improve the overall efficiency of electric vehicles.
