Helion is on the verge of changing the world with a new clean energy source, we are looking for scientists to make vital contributions to this design. You will be partnering with trusted experts in the field. In this role you will be comparing simulation and experimental measurements to ensure we’re able to bring clean energy to the world. The successful candidate would be able to use a computer code to simulate critical aspects of Polaris’s plasma physics, baseline the code with experiment, and use the code to help maximize the performance of Polaris.

What you’ll be doing:

Perform complex calculations as part of the analysis and evaluation of data, using computers.
Design computer simulations to model physical data so that it can be better understood.
Collaborate with other scientists in the design, development, and testing of experimental instrumentation, and procedures.

About you:

Ph.D. in Physics, or related physical science discipline
Expertise with magnetic confinement, and plasma-wall interaction.
Experience using MHD codes such as MACH2, Lamy Ridge, Cygnus, Nimrod, or MOQUI
Development of resistive MHD and Particle-in-Cell codes.
Theoretical understanding of compact toroid physics.

Pulsed power circuit modeling
RLC circuit analysis

Per Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act the range for this position is $117k - $175k. Actual salary is based on education, experience, and other qualifying skill sets.
