Requirements
  • Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy program.
  • Two years of experience.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
  • ARRT-R Radiography, ARRT-T Radiation Therapy, ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist, or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification, as applicable.
  • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography or a Computed Tomography credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
  • Required state licensure or accreditation where applicable, including Illinois Emergency Management Agency radiologic technologist authorization or Wisconsin radiographer licensure.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure image quality, patient care, and workflow, and monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
  • Oversee quality-control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a resource to department staff and other team members as needed.
  • Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching, and provide input to staff performance evaluations.
  • Position patients and accurately select anatomic and technical parameters.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data and history.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage areas, and other department areas.
  • Perform the duties of a CT Technologist.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Meet the physical demands of constant standing and walking; frequent vision, hearing, speech, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, patient movement, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and data entry; occasional handling of heavier objects and bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements; and rare kneeling and sitting.
