Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree with extensive experience considered
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in facilities operations, building maintenance, or engineering services
  • Supervisory experience overseeing teams or contractors
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and work order management
  • OSHA, CEFP, or trade certifications preferred
  • Ability to respond to emergencies, work evenings/weekends, and support critical campus needs
Responsibilities
  • Leads daily facilities operations for West Campus to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality building performance
  • Manages preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems
  • Conducts regular facility inspections to identify deficiencies, risks, code issues, and asset renewal needs
  • Ensures timely work order management, documentation accuracy, and performance tracking through the CMMS
  • Ensures coordination with capital projects and handoff from construction to operations
  • Coordinates custodial scheduling, assignments, and service quality aligned with APPA Level 2 standards
  • Evaluates custodial contractor performance and directs corrective actions when service gaps arise
  • Oversees on-site performance of vendors supporting maintenance, custodial, utilities, and technical service operations
  • Ensures full compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, fire/life safety codes, and environmental health requirements
  • Supports audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation
  • Implements preventive maintenance programs to optimize asset life, system reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Works closely with the Deputy Director and QA/QC Manager on engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Recommends capital renewal and lifecycle replacement priorities for campus infrastructure
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for West Campus stakeholders
  • Communicates maintenance activities, project impacts, and operational issues clearly and professionally
  • Supports high-demand operational needs such as special events, move-ins/outs, and seasonal transitions
  • Leads operational response during outages, building emergencies, and severe weather events
  • Ensures appropriate use of PPE, safe work practices, and hazard mitigation strategies
  • Supports continuity-of-operations planning for critical campus systems
  • Provides input on staffing needs, training, workflows, and operational efficiencies
  • Supports deferred maintenance efforts and campus improvement initiatives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
