Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for JD.com’s transportation network to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable delivery services across all markets.
• Oversee the end-to-end transportation operations, including last-mile delivery, long-haul logistics, cold chain transport, and cross-border shipping.
• Optimize transportation routes and fleet management systems using advanced analytics and technology to improve speed and reduce costs.
• Drive innovation in transportation, including the adoption of autonomous delivery vehicles, drones, and other cutting-edge logistics technologies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align transportation operations with overall supply chain and customer service goals.
• Monitor performance metrics such as on-time delivery rates, transit times, and cost-per-delivery, implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation-related regulations, including safety standards, environmental laws, and international shipping requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with logistics providers, carriers, and regulatory agencies to support the smooth execution of transportation activities.
• Lead and mentor a team of transportation managers and professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or professional certifications such as CLTD, CILT, or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred).
• Over 10 years of experience in transportation management, with a proven track record of optimizing large-scale logistics networks.
• Expertise in multimodal transportation, including road, rail, air, and sea freight, with a strong understanding of last-mile delivery dynamics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging data-driven insights to enhance transportation efficiency and performance.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets, reducing transportation costs, and improving delivery KPIs in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Deep knowledge of transportation technologies, including fleet management systems, route optimization tools, and autonomous delivery solutions.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and lead diverse teams.
• Thorough understanding of global logistics regulations and trade compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the e-commerce or retail sectors, managing high-volume transportation networks.
• Proven expertise in implementing sustainability initiatives in transportation, including reducing carbon footprints and adopting green logistics practices.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred, along with strong English communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain in transportation management.
