Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system specifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining test automation using National Instruments LabVIEW
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment across multiple engineering and tooling disciplines
  • Must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test equipment
  • Develop and maintain automated test software using National Instruments LabVIEW and related tools
  • Design and develop electronic drawings, using such programs as OrCad
  • Create detailed test plans, procedures, and methodologies to verify product specifications
  • Review test specifications for completeness and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test equipment, software, and test methodologies
  • Analyze test data and production yields to identify trends, root causes of failures, and areas for improvement
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing test equipment and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput
  • Collaborate with design, development, and manufacturing teams to ensure testability and quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Participate in product design reviews and provide input on “Design for Test” and “Design for Manufacturing”
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, military specifications, and quality assurance procedures
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong programming skills in Python for test development and automation
  • Experience with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and data acquisition systems
  • Proven experience in a test engineering role, preferably within the defense or aerospace industry
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment
  • Experience with statistical tools for data analysis and visualization
