Rainforest Unveils Seamless PayPal Integration for Vertical Software Platforms

Rainforest unveils seamless PayPal integration for vertical software platforms. February 25, 2026 Rainforest, an innovative embedded payment provider catering specifically to software platforms, has announced a new partnership with PayPal to enhance the checkout experience for merchants. This integration allows platforms utilizing Rainforest to seamlessly offer popular payment options such as PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later directly within their systems. The relevance of this development cannot be overstated. With a staggering 61% of Americans still opting for cash and checks as payment methods, the move represents a significant shift towards modernized digital transactions, a necessity for small businesses aiming to stay competitive. Given that checks are also the most frequently used method in payment fraud, reducing reliance on these antiquated methods can offer both convenience and security. The integration aims to alleviate many of the traditional hurdles small businesses face regarding payments. By providing a single checkout experience for both customers and merchants, businesses can expedite payment processes, leading to quicker cash flow and reduced administrative burdens. This means fewer late payments and a decrease in time spent tracking down overdue invoices - a common pain point for many small business owners. "Vertical software is a strategic growth area for PayPal as more commerce moves directly into software," said Taira Hall, Senior Vice President and Head of SMB Commercial at PayPal. "Rainforest's deep focus on vertical software and strong execution make them the ideal partner to equip software platforms with trusted PayPal payment options in a way that's streamlined, scalable, and purpose-built for their needs." Discover more Team Management Strategies How to Start a Car Rental Business Small business insurance The benefits of this integrated system extend beyond mere convenience. Rainforest's platform allows for streamlined onboarding for merchants, enabling them to access various payment methods through a single setup process. This is particularly advantageous for small business owners who often juggle multiple responsibilities and appreciate simple, efficient solutions. With a unified API, business owners can easily manage payment amounts and splits across different payment types, simplifying financial management. The integration also features robust reporting that allows businesses to filter and analyze their payments in one consolidated view. This data-driven approach encourages better financial decision-making, which is essential for growth. Joshua Silver, Founder and CEO of Rainforest, remarked, "Our customers have been increasingly eager for a PayPal integration as they look to shift more of their transaction volume away from cash and checks and toward modern digital payments. Partnering with PayPal allows us to do exactly that, giving platforms instant access to PayPal without extra onboarding steps, external portals, or fragmented reporting." Despite these advantages, small business owners should be aware of potential challenges when adopting new payment systems. Transitioning to an integrated payment solution often requires initial tech training and some logistical adjustments. Additionally, businesses must evaluate whether this new system aligns with their existing operational frameworks, including customer relations and service protocols. Furthermore, while the embedded solutions aim to streamline various processes, it's crucial for small business owners to ensure that their customer support team is prepared to handle any inquiries related to the new system. Clear communication about the transition will ultimately enhance the customer experience. Rainforest's collaboration with PayPal underscores a shared commitment to modernizing payment processes and improving customer interactions. With the evolving landscape of consumer preferences, it appears the shift to embedded payment solutions is not just a trend but a pivotal point in the future of commerce.
