Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a valid LPN license in good standing according to state and federal requirements.
- Thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Florida.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and other personnel.
- Ability to protect confidential information and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, fax machines, and copying machines.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care addressing residents' health needs, safety, and comfort.
- Provide professional assessments and documentation of residents' health.
- Assist with management of the assigned nursing unit staff.
- Supervise, perform, and provide written and verbal care assignments, routine skills, and procedures to ensure quality resident care.
- Participate in developing and implementing resident care plans, maintain current nursing care plans, document progress, and recommend revisions according to facility policy and procedure.
- Make daily and periodic visits to observe symptoms and reactions to medication or treatment.
- Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, weights, diet supplements and replacements, and cultures.
- Assist with staff orientation and ongoing training to maintain required skill levels.
