Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks an onsite Interdisciplinary Engineer to prepare design documents and/or scopes of work for A/E services, Design/Build services and construction work. Provide decisive guidance and direction regarding the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures. Responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule.

Qualifications & Skills
- The Interdisciplinary Engineer shall have a mastery of Engineering concepts, principles, and practices of their respective engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical).
- The Civil discipline shall have experience in National Building Codes (IBC, IRC & associated reference codes) and Civil Engineering sub-disciplines including site development, minor structural, earthwork, roads, drainage, water and wastewater utilities, etc. is required.
- The Structural discipline shall have mastery of Structural Engineering concepts, principles, and practices. Experience in National Building Codes (IBC, IRC and associated reference codes) and Structural Engineering sub-disciplines including seismic, snow and wind loading, and concrete, steel and timber systems is required.
- The Mechanical discipline shall have a mastery of Mechanical Engineering concepts, principles, and practices. Experience in National Building Codes (IBC, IRC & associated reference codes) and Mechanical Engineering sub-disciplines including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, fuel systems, tanks, pumps, piping, steam, and minor structural, etc. is required.
- The Electrical discipline shall have experience with NEC, NFPA, and other related National Building Codes and Electrical Engineering sub-disciplines including electrical network design (residential, commercial, and industrial), backup power generation, electrical panels, one-line drawings, electric power distribution and transmission, telecommunications, remote sensing, signal processing, digital circuits, instrumentation, etc. is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD is a minimum requirement. Requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience in respective engineering field.
Other Qualifications
- professional licenses, certifications, or specialized training in the field
- Advanced (Master’s and/or PhD) Engineering degree(s) from an ABET accredited program.
- Additional experience designing projects in Alaska and/or arctic locations.
- Demonstrated experience developing/reviewing technical packages for architect and engineering (A/E) services and performance specifications.
- Additional years of experience may not be substituted for the OASIS Journeyman educational requirement.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interdisciplinary Engineer provides engineering services for the CEU Juneau in support of work associated with projects in the Shore Assets Management (SAM) database, as reported on the Advanced Acquisition Plan (to be provided following award) and other inserted projects. Services include independent technical reviews, project scope development, field investigation, planning, specifications generation (in SpecsIntact), development of drawings (in AutoCAD), cost estimating, problem and conflict resolution, scheduling and design production, and facility condition assessments.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer provides engineering troubleshooting and/or consultations, providing technical and project advice and guidance to CEU Juneau Project Managers.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer conducts comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports, and analysis.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer collaborates with managers, other engineers/architects, construction project managers, environmental specialists, contract specialists and or other contracted personnel, and provides advice and insight on the resolution of unique and/or complex engineering problems and disputes.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer provides technical reviews and review comments for project designs, including Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build efforts.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer provides technical responses for Architect and Engineering (A/E) and contractor requests for information and coordinates with CEU Juneau Project Managers in developing Scopes of Work for required contract modifications.
- Interdisciplinary Engineer provides facility condition assessments and evaluations throughout D17.
- Occasional travel (with potential for overnight) required to operational & construction sites in USCG District 17 Area of Responsibility (AOR).
