  • Diploma or degree from an accredited registered nurse program.
  • Current New York State registered nurse license.
  • Current Basic Life Support training and certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills to enhance age-specific care.
  • Team collaboration and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work with electronic health records, practice management, and scheduling systems.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse in a physician practice or ambulatory environment, or previous related experience.
  • Ability to function effectively in a busy outpatient clinical setting.
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting.
  • Provide clinical leadership and serve as a resource for staff.
  • Support providers by managing clinical workflows, coordinating care, and ensuring timely follow-up on patient needs.
  • Review laboratory and diagnostic results, communicate findings to patients, and coordinate appropriate follow-up care under provider direction.
  • Manage the electronic health record inbasket by responding to patient messages, refill requests, and provider communications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform telephone and electronic triage to assess patient concerns, prioritize needs, and escalate appropriately to providers.
  • Provide in-person clinical support, including administering injections or assisting with minor procedures, only when necessary.
