Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid non-provisional driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be approved to transport clients.
  • Must successfully complete all Developmental Disabilities Administration Core Trainings.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 90% of work time and sit and/or drive for 10%.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 60 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Must be able to climb stairs or a ladder, maintain good balance, and have vision sufficient to drive.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Oversee the daily activities of a residence when the Residential Coordinator is not on duty.
  • Maintain formal and informal communication with the immediate supervisor and follow the chain of command.
  • Keep accurate records and accompanying receipts.
  • Complete data and daily documentation for the assigned shift in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that individuals attend approved outings and activities and complete required documentation before, during, and after outings.
  • Assist the residential department with preparation for licensure and accreditation.
  • Maintain medication-technician certification and administer needed medication according to medication-administration guidelines.
  • Maintain the residential home in a clean and tidy condition and transport individuals as necessary.
  • Implement fire drills as instructed.
  • Ensure individuals' safety and security and assist with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Follow individuals' dietary needs when preparing meals and snacks.
  • Interact positively with consulting staff, families, and the community while supporting the organization's position.
  • Adhere consistently to the assigned work schedule.
  • Complete training requirements and in-service training and maintain required certifications.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred.
