Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of ten years of experience in a comparable Casino Operations leadership position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and knowledge of Casino Operations operating systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of all Casino Operations.
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime, as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn's auto insurance carrier.
  • Ability to read and interpret English documents, read and communicate verbally in English, and communicate in writing in English.
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the overall operations, performance, and leadership of Casino Operations, with primary emphasis on Table Games and Poker Operations and strategic oversight of Slot Operations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage operational goals, strategic initiatives, and performance objectives to maximize revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide executive leadership and oversight of Table Games operations, including pit performance, game protection, dealer and leadership development, staffing strategies, ratings accuracy, labor optimization, premium player experience, and departmental profitability.
  • Maintain operational oversight of Slot Operations, including slot floor performance, slot mix optimization, product placement, operational efficiencies, guest service standards, and partnership with slot leadership to maximize gaming revenue.
  • Enforce gaming procedures, departmental policies, internal controls, and applicable federal, state, and gaming commission regulations.
  • Partner with Surveillance, Security, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, and Player Development to ensure operational integrity, asset protection, regulatory compliance, and guest experience.
  • Oversee Table Games and Poker game protection initiatives and maintain operational safeguards to minimize risk, prevent advantage play, and protect company assets.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance indicators, including table hold percentage, slot performance, labor productivity, guest satisfaction, revenue trends, occupancy and utilization, ratings accuracy, and departmental profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for game mix, slot floor optimization, premium player engagement, comp utilization, labor management, and guest service initiatives.
  • Prepare, manage, and adhere to departmental operating and capital budgets while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and control expenses.
  • Ensure scheduling practices align with business volumes, operational demands, labor objectives, and guest service expectations.
  • Promote guest service standards, ensure team members deliver exceptional service, and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Casino Operations leadership teams while fostering accountability, engagement, and operational excellence.
  • Participate on the Executive Leadership Team to develop strategic and tactical operating plans supporting property goals, gaming performance, guest engagement, and financial objectives.
  • Address team member feedback, concerns, development opportunities, and retention strategies to support departmental engagement.
  • Recommend and approve employment actions, including hiring, promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, succession planning, and organizational development within Casino Operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in departmental and company matters.
  • Protect company assets while maintaining operational integrity and accountability.
  • Develop staff development and training programs.
  • Manage rewards and recognition programs to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluate department team members and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Determine staffing recommendations, including interviewing and hiring, and plan, assign, and direct work and scheduling to meet business needs.
  • Determine work procedures and expedite workflow.
  • Manage employee performance through discipline, coaching, and counseling.

Oaklawn is a thoroughbred racetrack and year-round casino resort in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The destination combines live racing with gaming, a hotel, spa, restaurants, bars, entertainment and event facilities.
