Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in facility siting, hazard analysis, or process safety, with a proven track record in the chemical, petrochemical, and/or pharmaceutical industries
  • Expert proficiency in facility siting and risk assessment software (e.g., PHAST, SAFETI, ALOHA)
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and client relationship management
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in DNV PHAST/SAFETI
  • Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamic software (e.g., Gexcon FLACS, OpenFOAM, KFX)
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Visual Basic, Python)
  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API 752/753, OSHA PSM, NFPA)
  • Oversee and execute advanced hazard analyses for dispersion (flammable/toxic), explosion, and fire scenarios using available software tools
  • Visit client sites to educate clients on facility siting methodology and perform onsite activities (scenario development, congestion assessments)
  • Develop and review comprehensive technical reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionable recommendations for clients and stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, presenting findings and guiding risk mitigation strategies
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional development within the team
  • Support business development by preparing proposals and participating in client meetings regularly
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulations, standards, and modeling technologies in facility siting and process safety, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in facility siting and risk assessment reports, invoice approvals, and collections status notices promptly by Company procedures
  • Travel up to 50% to client sites and project locations
